Attn writers! - When the Rainbow Isn't Enough

The Toronto Women's Bookstore is accepting submissions from emerging writers (fiction, non-fiction, poetry, spoken word) for their new monthly reading series: When the Rainbow Isn't Enough.

Here's the official notice:

The purpose of When the Rainbow Isn't Enough is to provide a supportive
environment for new and emerging queer and trans writers of colour and
two-spirited aboriginal writers to share their work, share resources and
build networks.

All readings will take place at the Toronto Women's Bookstore.

Theme for September 29th: Hope and Resistance
Theme for October 27th: Transitions and Turning Points
Theme for November 24th: Naming and Reclaiming

Submission Guidelines:
- Please indicate which month you are applying for.
- All pieces must connect to the theme of that month.
- All pieces must be a total of 2500 words maximum, typed, double spaced and
12 font.
- Submissions must include a short biographical note and full contact
information.
- If you wish your submission returned please include a self-addressed
stamped envelope.
- Late submissions will not be accepted.
- Submissions by email or by fax will not be accepted.

First time readers and young people (under 25) are particularly encouraged
to send in your work.

* Early submissions are strongly encouraged.

Deadlines:
Submissions for the September 29th reading must be at the bookstore by
closing time (8 p.m.) on Friday September 1, 2006.
Submissions for the October 27th reading must be at the bookstore by closing
time (8 p.m.) on Friday September 15, 2006.
Submissions for the November 24th reading must be at the bookstore by
closing time (8 p.m.) on Friday October 13, 2006.
